Fitz and The Tantrums Bring The Party To Omaha!

Story and Photos: Audrey Wright

Fitz And The Tantrums brought the party to Omaha, NE Tuesday night (1/31). They also brought special guest Sammy Rash along with them. During the holidays and most of January I took some time off from shooting shows. It feels good to be back doing what I love.

Sammy Rash, a twenty year old Hermosa Beach, CA native, kicked off the night with some melodic and soothing tunes. He eased the crowd's mind with his catchy lyrics and surfer boy curls. With over one million listeners on Spotify alone, Sammy has swept the internet and the US by storm. Everyone, including myself, enjoyed his great energy and humor. Check out his new single “Fantasize” released on January 27th!

Fitz And The Tantrums were up next. I had previously shot for them when they played at Stir Cove this past summer. Let me just say, there is no better way to kick off my first show of the year than with this group! Their energy is so uplifting and their performances are always such a breath of fresh air. Contagious in the most wonderful way. They played some new songs and some old songs including "Out Of My League", "HandClap", and "I Just Wanna Shine". Lead singer “Fitz” told a story about how he never gave up on his dreams of playing music even though people told him he would never make it. It really made me appreciate them even more after hearing that story. It reminded me that even though there are challenges and occasional road blocks, to keep doing what I love, shooting concerts!
