The Waiting Room was packed with Emo and pop-punk fans Tuesday (4.7.26) for a sold out show featuring Magnolia Park, Silly Goose, and PINKNOISE!

First on the bill was PINKNOISE. The band hit the stage with force and served up a big heaping of Emo and Djent crossover tunes that got the crowd amped! This was my first time hearing their music and I enjoyed what I heard. They had a pop-punk vibe with an almost R&B twist. The vocals were really impressive and the riffs were shredding. Check out PINKNOISE on all streaming platforms!

Next up was Silly Goose from Atlanta. These guys blew the roof off the Waiting Room with their rap rock revival. As soon as they hit the stage they were bouncing all over the place and so was the crowd! Lead singer Jackson commanded the crowd to jump, mosh, and crowd surf over the rail. The crowd obliged and bodies were flying everywhere. A guy in a Silly Goose shirt with a cane came flying over and it was quite the sight!

Silly Goose had energy for days with their big riffs and rap lyrics. I have to say they take a big lift from Limp Bizkit, but art is theft, right? I noticed that one of their songs was like an 80% copy of "Just Like This" from the Significant Other album, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Keep on rocking and who knows maybe Silly Goose will get the co-sign from Fred Durst? The band was a riot and I had a great time trying capturing all the energy. If there's a Silly Goose sighting in the Omaha area make sure to let me know.

After Silly Goose wiped the floor with the Waiting Room crowd it was time for the headliners Magnolia Park!

Floridians Magnolia Park started in 2018 and they've been on quite the run putting out four full-length albums already. Sometimes you hear a band and fall in love right away, but with Magnolia Park it was a slow burn. My work homie Marissa told me about Magnolia Park about a year ago and I checked out their stuff. I liked what I heard but I didn't put them into my regular rotation.

After I saw Magnolia Park was coming to Omaha I started to check them out more and I really enjoyed the VAMP album and its companion album Nights After Vamp which had some acoustic versions and bonus tracks. After seeing these guys live count me a big fan. Their energy was incredible and they sounded amazing with banger after banger in their setlist. It's hard to pinpoint Magnolia Park's sound, which is a huge plus if you ask me. They've got so much range, from pop-punk to Emo to electronica. They bring the heat with every song. During the band's hour set they focused mostly on the VAMP album but threw in a few older songs for the die-hard fans.

My favorite part of the set was when Magnolia Park broke out a cover of "I2I" by Powerline! If you don't know the song, drop everything. I remember watching A Goofy Movie on repeat when I was a kid and Powerline was the best part. All through the venue people young and old were singing along having the best time. I've since listened to the Powerline cover several times as well as the VAMP albums. It's so fun to see a band live and then do a deep dive on their catalog through a new lens. The next time Magnolia Park is in town you know I'll do my best to be there!

After the show fans trickled out of the Waiting Room full of sweat and smiles. This show was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it again. Next up is ICP! Should I bust out some Juggalo paint? You'll just have to wait and see. Make sure you're following along on socials so you don't miss a moment of the action.

Huge thanks to Mammoth Live and the Waiting Room.

Thanks for reading and we'll see you at the next one!
