New Sonic Temple Headliners

Updated: Jan 21, 2022

By now, you may have seen that Metallica had to drop from the upcoming Sonic Temple Music Festival May 15-17 in Columbus, Ohio. You would think this would be a huge blow to the line up since Metallica was going to close out both Friday and Sunday night of the festival with two unique sets, but the festival organizers quickly stepped up with two killer replacements. Friday night will now be headlined by the legendary masters of funk, Red Hot Chili Peppers! Then on Sunday, mysterious art rockers Tool will close out the festival.

Tool is still riding high after releasing their first album in over 13 years, 2019’s Fear Innoculum. We caught Tool in Lincoln last year and it was one of the biggest shows of the year! There wasn’t a single empty seat in the place. We‘re expecting big things from Tool’s closing set at Sonic Temple.

Also, don’t forget Deftones are playing right before Tool on the main stage. Could this be the year that Maynard comes out to play “Passenger?” Many in the Deftones fan group say both Maynard and Chino would think its too cliche for this to happen, but it is the 20th anniversary of White Pony this year, so we’ve got our fingers crossed!

While you’re counting down the days to the festival, check out some deep cuts from Friday’s headliner Red Hot Chili Peppers. There's still time to catch all the action. Pick up your PASSES today!
